 Col (Dr.) Surinder Saini is the founder and CEO of K9 Warriors Pvt Ltd. A veteran from Remount and Veterinary Corps of the Indian Army, the officer has served as Chief Dog Training Instructor for dog training courses of officers and troops from Indian Army, Navy, Air force, Para Military and Friendly Foreign countries at Indian Army’s Dog Training Centre from 2015 to 2017 and 2019 to 2022. 

He has made significant contributions in the field of K9 olfaction by training 'vapor wake' dogs and also path breaking real time detection of COVID-19 infection in troops during the pandemic. He has also pioneered the use of protection work dogs as first responders along with the use of Canine Remote Delivery System and Vision system in real operations and successfully inducted Assault dogs in Special Forces and Army Dog Units.

He represented Indian Army at the International Army Games K9 competition, held at Moscow, Russia in 2017. 

He has  authored the book "The Language of Modern Dog Training and its Application in Training Military Working Dogs". He has judged the All India Police K9 Competitions in 2013 and 2014, and as  Chief Judge in 2023 and 2024. He has been awarded with Army Chief Commendation Card, Techno Warrior Trophy and Director General RVS Trophy twice, for his immense contributions to the K9 field.   

He has been instrumental in establishing modern global best practices of K9 training in India.  

 Naib Risaldar M Shanmugham (retd) is the Chief K-9 training officer at K9 Warriors Pvt Ltd. He started his career in field of K9 training with the Indian Army as “Army Dog Trainer” in the year 1996. He served in the Indian army for 24 long years and retired as Naib Risaldar in the year 2020. During his stint in the Indian Army, he has seen action along with his K9 soldiers in tackling law & order issues in troubled regions of the country.  

He has also been trained by renowned K9 trainers, Mr. David Buss of Holland and Mr. Bart Bellon of Germany. He trains by reinforcing K9 drives to achieve the desired results, unlike the traditional domination and repetition methods. He has professionally used the science of K9 olfaction and adopted modern techniques like scent imprinting, scent discrimination and identification using modern gadgets like ‘behavior shaping device’, ‘mixed odor detection device’ and behavior marking ‘clickers’ which ensure 100% detection rates in detecting hidden narcotics and explosives. He also specializes in using K9 augmentation technology like K9 Vision System, K9 remote delivery system using E-collars and GPS tracking systems.

He was part of the NSG K9 team which actively participated in the 26/11 Mumbai Terror attacks. He was also part of the United Nations K9 peacekeeping force in the year 2015.
